Göta kanal genom Motala stad

The blue ribbon of Göta Kanal divides Motala into two parts. The 3.5 km long canal section through the urban area is bordered by a green border of tall deciduous trees. In an inventory, more than 800 coarse deciduous or hollow trees have been described. The area is easy to discover by foot or bike on the paths along the canal. Göta Kanal has been called Sweden's longest avenue and through Motala the character of the avenue is obvious from the harbor to Platen's grave.
