Omschrijving
Björkön is one of the larger islands in Hjälmaren. It is an island covered in deciduous forest, where parts of the forest contain really old trees of oak, lime and ash. In the past, there was a farm on the island where the land was cultivated and animals grazed in the forest. The open agricultural landscape remains in the middle of the island. The nature reserve also includes the surrounding water area and smaller islands around Björkön.

Routebeschrijving
Till Björkön tar du dig med båt, kanot eller kajak. Idag finns en entré på södra delen av ön i Björksundet. Från farleden tar du av norrut och in i en skyddad vik där en stor brygga för angöring med båt finns.
