Bruketrundan

Tingsryd route is a shorter cycling or running round starting from the center of Tingsryd. For those who run and want to avoid the asphalt on Sydostleden, it is possible to shorten a few kilometers by running/cycling the dirt road past the old airport instead.

Road description Preferably start by Tingsryd Square. On the lawn by Torggatan/Dackegatan you find the monument "Karatorpsdubben", made by Ingemar Svensson and Björn Gidstam, a memory of quarrying in Småland. Continue on Dackegatan to Tingsås kyrka, the church of Tingsryd, which was built in 1853. Follow Kyrkgatan and Tingsgatan to Tingsmålavägen, where you turn left. Follow the street and then the gravel road outside town. At ironworks cross the bridge over the river Bräkneån. In the late 17th century Ekefors seat farm was established here and owned by District Judge Paul Rudebeck. A trip hammer and blast furnace was used to melt iron ore from lake Ygden. Straight after the sign towards Gängeskulla take a left turn onto the bicycle path towards Tingsryd. At the junction turn left and follow the road a short while, pass the entry sign and turn left. Follow the road behind the villas. Turn right by the stone wall and follow the road behind the houses. Soon you see the river Bräkneån on your left side. At Kvarngatan turn right, thereafter left on Växjövägen and right onto the bike path towards the center. Now you are entering the beautiful Å-park by the river Bräkneån. The tour is mainly on car-free bike path and smaller gravel roads.
