Välen

Välen is located in the middle of Stora Hammarsjöns FVO, about 7 km southwest of Hultsfred. The lake is managed by SFK Kroken, which regularly releases rainbow trout. You can find the lake if you drive towards the waste facility Kejsarkullen from road 34. Once you have passed the railroad, it is signposted Välen straight ahead and then you just follow the signs. You can park when you arrive at the lake. It is very well organized around the lake with piers, shelters, barbecue areas and paths. The fishing is adapted for the disabled with a dock and toilet for the disabled.

Välen is a nutrient-poor lake surrounded by pine and spruce forests. The shores are rocky, and in some places marshland with marsh fritillary dominates. Moss, pine, lingonberry and bilberry dominate the ground layer around the lake. The vegetation in the lake is sparse with sedges, water clover and water lilies.
