Ingebo Hagar - Röda leden

The intermediate trail is 2.4 kilometers long at Ingebo Hagar, starting in the old road and continuing down along mixed forest that is carefully managed according to the continuity method. Along the stream you pass over, the not very common goldenrod grows in the spring.

Soon you'll be down in the darker coniferous forest, which has light gaps due to storms Gudrun and Per. A long, moss-covered hill leads you up to "Mördare-lyckorna". A terrible murder took place here on June 3, 1834 when the farmer Håkan Ingeström drove the axe into the head of the young farmhand Gustaf Boman, "whereupon he died", as it says in the family history. A jealousy drama was behind the deed and as a little curiosity it can be added that the farmer Håkan was Astrid Lindgren's grandmother's grandfather's brother. Today, however, "Mördarelyckorna" is a peaceful place where sheep graze. Follow the fence, the stone walls and the old deciduous trees through the pasture. When you come down so that you have young forest on your left and spruce trees on your right, you should soon look up to see a large 'witch's broom' at the top of a tall spruce on the other side of the pasture. This formation is a genetic mutation that causes the spruce's shoots to grow densely, forming a ball-shaped top. Below the pasture, the trail turns sharply right and takes you out into old arable land, which was planted with spruce in the 1950s. Large stone cairns among the spruce trees are reminiscent of the time when, with great difficulty, people managed to grow grain for their daily bread on these lands.

Soon you are on Kungsvägen, the old highway between Stockholm and Kalmar. For hundreds of years, both kings and farmers have traveled here. You will soon pass the croft Blomsterhult. People used to come here from Ingebo to get help with forging. The high fence on your right encloses a leafy plantation. In 2001, the deciduous trees oak, beech, lime, birdberry and masur birch were planted there. Stop for a moment and find out more about the deciduous plantation. The information board is located directly to the right, where you should turn down to get back to the village. A pleasant walk through beautiful pastures awaits you now.
