Konstverk Gårdfarihandlaren

Gunnel Frieberg studied at Zadig’s School of Sculpture in Malmö, Fredrikberg’s Technical School in Copenhagen, the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, the Graphic School and the Mosaic School in Ravenna. She has made several sculptures and reliefs for public spaces and has always worked figuratively, but her choice of materials and techniques has varied. She has mostly worked in clay, plaster or bronze, but has also worked in wood, stone, mosaic and concrete.

Gunnel Frieberg was married to the Halland artist Felix Hatz in the 1940s.

‘Gårdfarihandlaren’ (The Pedlar) is cast in bronze and stands in the railway park in Forsheda. Purchased by the Municipality of Värnamo in 1991.
