Årån naturreservat

There are currently no trails or other facilities for outdoor activities
in the area. Visitors are welcome to explore the area on their own.

The varied aquatic environments along River Årån provide habitats for
many plants and animals. Årån’s flowing water, with its solid rocky bottom and
good oxygen conditions, is vital for many aquatic animals and with a little
luck you will spot an otter, Småland’s regional animal.

Årån is part of the Lagan water system and covers about 10 km between
Lakes Lången and Furen. Keep in mind that canoeing is prohibited during the
breeding period from 1 March to 15 July and from 1 October to 30 November due
to salmon trout spawning.

nice stretch of road runs along Årån between Eds Kvarn and Pinnarekulla.
