The Area of Åsby Skantzen

The Åsby Skantzen area is one of Hallstahammar’s most varied places for a walk, an outing or a moment by the water. Here, nature, cultural history, canal settings and green spaces come together in an area where you can easily choose a route based on time, energy and curiosity.

There are three routes that let you discover the area in different ways: Skantzörundan, Åsby Skantzenrundan and Trångforsrundan. You can take a shorter walk near Lake Skantzsjön and Skantzen, continue through Åsby and further along water and greenery – or follow the trail north towards Trångfors, where the rapids, canal, forge and industrial history give the place a special character.

What makes the area so appealing is the variety. One moment you are walking close to the water, the next you pass cultural environments, open green areas, locks, bridges and traces of Hallstahammar’s industrial history. It is easy to get here, easy to find something that suits you, and easy to stay a little longer than planned.
