It is said that a young girl Malin, in the 14th century, stayed at this place and took care of those who had fallen ill with the plague. When those who could, fled further into the forest to save their lives. The place is named after Malin. Malibambo means Malin's church. To this day it is a place where outdoor services are celebrated.

Malibambu is located along the Siljansleden trail on the Mångberg - Siljansfors stretch. If you don't want to go to Siljansfors, you can take the road towards Rossberg and on to Gesunda and there connect to Romboleden.
If you want to avoid busy roads, a tip is to continue Siljansleden via Siljansfors all the way to Oxberg and there connect to Romboleden.
