Omschrijving

A cape with varied flora and fauna, giant trees and the traces of an old quarry.

Much of the area is broadleaf woodland, grazed land and forested rock. Older pastures contain old linden trees which were pollarded for animal feed.

The bedrock is fine-grained gneiss, Blekinge coastal gneiss, which used to be used for cobbles.

There are defensive bunkers along the shoreline from the Per Albin Line, a line of fortifications over 500 kilometres long, dating from the Second World War and named after the Swedish Prime Minister at the time, Per Albin Hansson.

The rules for the nature reserve are shown in the link below, but, for example, you are not allowed to drive a vehicle/ride a horse/cycle, pitch a tent/camp for more than 24 hours or light a fire other than in a designated spot.

The nature reserve is about eight kilometres south-south-west of Bräkne-Hoby on the far south of Garnanäsudden.

You are welcome to visit Garnanäs, but please note that it is not allowed to

damage land, destroy or damage solid natural objects or surface formations
prospect for minerals
Damage stone walls, cairns or other cultural-historical remains
disturbing wildlife
damage growing or dead trees and bushes, or vegetation in general
pick mosses, lichens or wood-living fungi, other than what is reasonably necessary for species identification
planting plant or animal species alien to the area and the region, as well as breeds/types alien to the region
carry an unleashed dog other than for hunting
drive vehicles, ride horses or bicycles
camping for more than one day or setting up a caravan or motorhome making a fire other than on a special fireplace
capture and collect invertebrates in such a way as to damage or destroy their biotopes or reproductive habitats.

Without permission from the county administrative board, you may not

conduct scientific research involving sampling or installation of equipment
use the area for competitions or exercises that may
disturb nature or the public's outdoor life
put up a board, poster, billboard, sign, signpost, inscription or similar device.
