Tivedens Nationalpark vid Bergslagsleden

The Bergslagsleden trail runs for a long stretch through the mountainous, inaccessible area of primeval forest known as central Tiveden or "Görtiveden", which is now protected as a national park. Trollkyrka is just a small part of this vast wilderness area. Those who are content to just follow the main route of the trail will experience most of this area on the stretch south of the return route to Trollkyrka. Typical features are the lichen-covered rocky areas with sparse pine forests and the lush sinks with spruce forests, as well as small marshes with pine bogs. Remember that the lichen mats on the rocks are sensitive to wear and tear, so stick to the path. Fires and camping are prohibited in the national park. There is a manned information center in summer at Östgötaviken in Stora Trehörningen.
