Strandpromenaden i Lidköping

The beach walk in Lidköping stretches from the small boat harbor and Framnäs beach park along Lake Vänern through Tofta and up to Giacomina. The walk offers several opportunities to connect with the lake, as it follows the shoreline almost the entire way. The path leads you down to small bathing beaches where you can take a dip or enjoy a picnic on the beach.

The walk offers a variety of environments from beaches and swimming areas, open views over Kinneviken with Kinnekulle, areas surrounded with reed, lakeshore forests with high biodiversity, to cliffs and rocks. You walk on gravel paths, asphalt roads, wooden boardwalks in the reeds, stairs, and rocky areas near Giacomina Hill at the end.

The rare Great Reed Warblers nest in the reeds, and marsh harriers and ospreys occasionally visit. The lakeside thickets host both endangered and more common species and provide an important habitat for birds, amphibians, and plants. In the urban area between the boat yard and the campsite, you might spot species like nightingale, rosefinch, water rail, pied flycatcher, lesser spotted woodpecker, greenish warbler, and Eurasian pygmy owl.

The trail passes Framnäs beach park, the Vänern Museum, Framnäs swimming area, Kronocamping, Villabadet, and Skogshyddan . Perfect for taking multiple breaks along the way.
