Södra Råda gamla kyrka

The unique 14th century church in Södra Råda was destroyed in a fire in 2001. It is now being rebuilt and was inaugurated in June 2022.

The unique 14th century church in Södra Råda was destroyed in a fire in 2001. An interdisciplinary research project is now under way at the site of the church. You are welcome to join a guided tour (in Swedish) or walk around on your own. At certain times you can see carpenters at work using medieval methods and tools. Big parts of the ground around the site is gravel and therefore uneven. Toilet for disabled is available.

The surroundings are beautiful and suitable for a picnic.
