GöteborgsVarvet is the world's largest half marathon, with 64,000 registered runners (2015) and over 200,000 dedicated officials and supporters. It started in 1980 and has since had over 1 million registered runners.
The start and finish are in Slottsskogsvallen. The total distance is 21km, there is an asphalt surface all the way and several opportunities for food, toilets and views along the way. It is possible to train this route on a day other than the race, but it is a little more difficult to get around without the barriers that are in place during the race.
