Anundshög

Anundshög is Sweden's largest burial mound. It is 9 meters high and has a diameter of 64 meters. Anundshög dates from the 10th century AD. The mound is built on a bottom layer of clay. The dead person was burned on the clay layer. The remains were then covered with a cairn of stones, which was covered with turf and earth. Many people took part in the work of building Sweden's largest burial mound.
