Omsberget

Omsberget is a mountain plateau with steep slopes and smooth rocky areas. Here there are long views in many directions, both eastwards towards Sundsvallsfjärden and the Bothnian Sea, and southwards towards Njurundabommen and Medelpad's southernmost mountains. The centuries-old pine trees stand sparsely and rest on memories of bygone times. You can start from several different places. From Tallstugan, west of the mountain, there is a marked trail of about 1 km. There is also a marked trail from Fiskdammen east of the E4, from here it is about 4 km. It is also possible to connect on paths and roads from Hemmanet, which is one and a half kilometers shorter than from Fiskdammen. For the adventurous, it is also possible to climb up the, to say the least, steep southern slope from the cross-country track, but be careful not to fall down the steep cliffs. Whichever way you approach, the hike closest to the mountain is demanding, on uneven ground. Be sure to visit the five-meter deep crevice at the northern end of the plateau.
