Sör-Blankberget

Sör-Blankberget gives a real wilderness feeling with its pristine
character and dramatic terrain. Fire-affected pine-dominated forests grow here
that have been untouched by forestry for the last hundred years.

In the barren boulder and rocky areas in the northern part of the area
grows the oldest forest in the area. There are trees of four different generations and the
oldest pines are around 350 years old. Dry trees, lying dead trees and
stumps of pine are scattered throughout the area and represent most
age stages. It is very unusual but characteristic of forests that
barely affected by man.

On a dead aspen in the reserve, the very rare
wood fungus white aspen tick has been found.
