Beskrivelse
The trail goes up to Gäutavardo/Gäutafjället within walking distance from Tärnaby. Relatively easy hike up through coniferous forest that turns into mountain birch forest and then bare mountain. Once up, you get a wide view in 360 degrees. The clear path initially goes through troll-like spruce forest and later turns into mountain birch forest. Then, above the tree line, the trail goes over bogs (with footbridges) and soon you are up on bare rock and the view begins to take shape. The top is relatively flat and at the highest point you will find a stone cairn, up here you have fantastic views of Tärnaby, Ryfjället, Norra Storfjällsmassivet and beyond Boksjödalen. The trip takes about 3-4 hours round trip.

Parkering
Good parking is right opposite the start of the trail. Turn off the E12 towards Norra Fjällnäs/Solberg. Just after the intersection, the parking lot is on the left and the trail starts on the right, opposite the parking lot.
Veibeskrivelse
Follow the E12 east from Tärnaby. Just after the bridge over Tärnaån turn towards Norra Fjällnäs and Solberg. The trail starts 100 meters after the road on the right side.

Trolsk skog på vägen upp och ljuvlig utsikt väl uppe på fjället. Gick turen med en 6-åring och en 11-åring men dock inte ”hela” vägen till toppen utan nöjde oss på första kullarna med kalfjäll. Fin tur!
