Wermland Opera

In the heart of city and just next to the river Klarälven, you will find Karlstad Theatre.

This beautiful white buildning was designed by the archietect Johan Axel Anderberg, who also designed the opera house in Stockholm. The theatre was inuagurated in 1893 and was used as a cinema for a long period of time. Since 1975 it has been the home of Wermland Opera that stages new productions of operas and musicals on a regular basis.
