Strandgårdens Wärdshus is a charming Bed & Breakfast in a classic Swedish wooden house from the early 1900s, beautifully located by the shores of Lake Vänern, just outside Kristinehamn. Stay in a peaceful and natural setting with lake views – perfect for relaxation, nature lovers, and those who enjoy a personal atmosphere.

Rooms and apartments

The guesthouse offers nine individually decorated rooms – from single rooms to family rooms – and two fully equipped apartments. One apartment is located in the loft of the main building, and the other in a separate annex with its own terrace. Shared facilities include three shower rooms, five toilets, three TV lounges with balconies, a shared kitchen, and a billiard room. There is also a playground for children.

Breakfast buffet, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, and parking are always included. The accommodation is smoke-free and pet-free.

Food and summer dining

In summer, you can enjoy breakfast on the outdoor terrace with a view of Lake Vänern. The restaurant is open by reservation and serves homemade food in a cozy setting – ideal for small groups or gatherings.

Close to nature and culture

Strandgården is a great starting point for both nature and culture experiences. The popular hiking trail Järnleden passes nearby, as well as the 640 km long cycling route Vänerleden. Within walking distance, you’ll find Stadsbondgården, a small city farm where children can meet animals and play, and the beautiful Östervik Chapel.

For art lovers, Kristinehamn Art Museum with a restaurant and café is just a short walk away. You can also enjoy a peaceful stroll to Gustafsvik Manor Park or visit Kristinehamn Riding School.
