Location: Värmlands län, Torsby municipality, about 17 kilometers north of Båtstad.The reserve is elongated and can be reached from several directions. You can get down to the watercourse from the bridge on road 62, where there is a rest area. You can also reach the reserve via the nearby Höljberget: Take road 62 towards Trysil. About 8 kilometers after Höljes, turn off towards Bastuknappen. When you enter the road towards Bastuknappen, you drive over Höljan almost immediately after entering the road, and there is the possibility to park to get down to the watercourse. You can also continue to drive on the gravel road towards Bastuknappen for about 11 kilometers where a forest road turns north to Höljberget. At the exit onto the forest road there is a road barrier that may be closed during thaw, otherwise it is open.

In addition to other statutory provisions, it is prohibited in the reserve to

• cut down or otherwise damage living or dead trees or
• shrubs, standing or fallen,
• collect invertebrates, mosses, lichens and wood fungi,
• driving motorized vehicles
• tipping or stockpiling
• digging or pulling up vascular plants
• damaging, rearranging or removing rock, earth or stone,

Exemptions

The prohibition on driving a motorized vehicle does not apply on an existing road or driving with a snowmobile on a trail marked with red trail crosses and marked on the map in Appendix 2a.
