The Östra Tvärnö nature reserve is located on Söderön, a little north of Östhammar. Here you can explore a varied landscape with an exciting history! Hug the large oaks and admire the flower-rich pastures. Look out for the beautiful orchid Adam and Eve. Follow the paths down to the bay.
The Östra Tvärnö nature reserve consists of two parts on either side of Mellangården. From the parking lot, you can follow the path through the pastures out to Näsudden, 1.8 km. There you will find a beautifully situated picnic area with a fireplace and a view of the sea. Östra Tvärnö is surrounded by a protective archipelago, but the open sea is not far away.
If you want to enjoy a picnic on a blanket in the green grass, there are beautiful pastures at Mellangården. Just keep in mind that there are often cows in the pasture during the green season.

You can take the bus to the Östra Tvärnö stop, which is about 250 m from the reserve. Timetables can be found at: www.ul.se
Veibeskrivelse
Tvärnö is located southeast of Östhammar, on the eastern side of Östhammarsfjärden.
By car: From Uppsala, follow road 288 towards Östhammar. A short distance before Östhammar, turn onto road 76. Just north of Östhammar, turn off towards Långalma. In Långalma, turn right towards Raggarön. After driving over a small bridge, you are on Tvärnö. Continue another 5 km and pass Tvärnö Såg och Hyvleri. The parking lot is on the right side just after Mellangården.
