Smultronställe Dalkarlskärret

Dalkarlskärret is located within cycling distance of Uppsala, about 1 mile south of the city center. The place is a real gem for those who like to watch wading birds and seabirds, or collect bugs at the shore. Or just want to find a nice place for an excursion with a packed lunch.

In winter, the ice settles early on the marsh. So this is where you'll usually find the first plowed skating rink of the season on natural ice, a kilometer-long loop between the reed beds.

At Dalkarlskärret there is a barbecue area and around it there are picnic tables ready to receive visitors hungry for food. Perhaps a walk along the 1.2 km long path around the marsh will tempt you? Horses and cows graze in the meadows.

There is a bird tower near the entrance and picnic area. There is another one on the other side of the marsh.

Accessibility: There is an accessible dry toilet at the parking lot. From the parking lot, a paved path leads the short distance to the rest area. There is a fire pit and a picnic table adapted for wheelchairs.
