Södra Vätterleden etapp SV1 Mullsjö Hotell - Bottnaryd - En del av Smålandsleden

Welcome to stage SV1 Mullsjö - Bottnaryd.

On stage SV1 you are taken on an exciting hike along the beautiful shores of Lake Stråken. In addition to the beautiful lake and forest landscape, you pass a very rich cultural landscape with the ancient Ryfors Bruk, a large number of ancient remains, as well as traces of prehistoric hiking trails.

The trail goes through Ryfors old-growth forest where there are also a number of shorter circular loops.

The stage's easy-to-walk sandy plateaus with gently undulating ridges are ideal for hiking and mostly run along narrow paths or soft forest roads.

A little more than halfway there is the possibility to spend the night in Mohemmet's shelter, where there is also a fireplace and a campfire. There is no possibility to refill drinking water along the trail. If you take water from lakes and streams, remember to boil or filter water before using it.

Just outside Bottnaryd there are also overnight facilities at Drottningberget, where there is a fire pit and dry toilet.

The stage works well as a longer full-day hike, or a quieter two-day hike and can also be combined with connecting trails.
