Stora Bastås is located about 14 kilometers south of Arboga. Drive from the large roundabout in Arboga towards sign E18 V/E20 V mör Örebro. After about 800 meters turn off towards sign Västermo. Drive 3 kilometers. Turn right towards Sickelsjö. Drive 7 kilometers. Turn left at the sign Hästnäs. Drive 3 kilometers. Turn right at the sign Rävsvik. Drive about 400 meters. Turn right at the sign Nature Reserve. Drive about 200 meters to parking.

There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.

In addition to what otherwise applies, it is forbidden to:

• dig, hack, carve, paint or otherwise damage the earth's surface or solid natural objects such as rocks and boulders,
• felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees and shrubs, and damaging vegetation or natural objects in general, e.g. by burning dead wood, collecting plants, mosses, fungi or lichens, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms for domestic use,
• collecting insects or other invertebrates, with the exception of collecting or picking individual specimens for species identification
• drive a motorized vehicle
• carry an unleashed dog
• ride a bicycle or horse
• make fires other than at a rest area organized by the manager.

In addition, it is forbidden without the permission of the County Administrative Board

• put up a board, sign, poster or permanently mark trails, use the area for organized competitions or exercises, camp activities or the like.
