Lusthus och filosofens grav

The octagonal gazebo with a peaked roof probably dates from the late 18th or early 19th century. It belongs to the English-style park at Lilla Sickla farm. An English park should have winding paths and may be hilly. The style was created as a contrast to the French Baroque parks, with their regular shapes and long sight lines. The tomb in the park has become known as the Philosopher's Tomb because the French philosopher Jean-Jaques Rosseau, who advocated a life in harmony with nature, was buried in an English park. The three people actually buried here were not known as philosophers.
