Björkby-Kyrkviken

Björkby-Kyrkviken Nature Reserve is located on the northern shore of Lake Vallentuna. With its central location in the center of Vallentuna, the area is a popular destination for nature lovers, children's groups, exercisers or for those who just want to sit at a picnic table and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Vallentunasjön has great qualities all year round and is popular for both cross-country skating and walking.

At Kyrkviken, brown ducks and mallards nest, among others. Here you can sometimes see the brown marsh harrier sailing or hear the bittern honking. In the scrubland north of the lake, grasshopper warblers and nightingales are usually heard. In spring, the wood anemones bloom on the so-called wood anemone hill in the northwestern part of the reserve.
