The nature reserve comprises firstly the north slope of Ätnakåbbå mountain and secondly a mire with forest isles below the mountain. The area is 4.3 square kilometres in size.

Ätnakåbbå lies about 3 kilometres south of Larve. From road 97 you reach Ätnakåbbå via a road leading southwestward at Jokkmokk Airport. From road 45, take a logging road northward towards Larve, turning off about 18 kilometres north of Kåbdalis.

Ätnakåbbå is located about 3 kilometers south of Larve. From road 97 you reach Ätnakåbbå via a road that goes southwest at Jokkmokk airport. From road 45 you get to Ätnakåbbå via a forest road that goes north towards Larve, exit about 18 kilometers north of Kåbdalis.
Forskrifter
All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:
- camping
- hike
- make a fire, remember to bring your own wood!
- pick berries and edible mushrooms
- drive snowmobiles on snow-covered ground
- fish and hunt in accordance with the laws in force
It is not allowed to harm plant and animal life. Remember the right of public access and protect nature!
