Holmsjöarna

At Holmsjöarna, the Dalälven makes a 90-degree turn and continues south. Here the river flows calmly with river banks, known as levees, on the sides. Inside there are gentle areas with several lakes. Here you will find a rich bird life, especially in spring and fall, for resting birds. Among other things, you can see lapwings, brown ducks, grebes, kestrels, horned owls, marsh harriers and more Ospreys and skylarks can also be seen hunting by the lakes.

The area is widely used for outdoor activities, including excursions for school classes and birdwatchers, who have access to prepared trails and birdwatching towers.
