Beskrivelse

With its 137 hectares, Telegrafberget will be Tyresö's third largest reserve, after Tyresta and Alby. Visitors can walk along a path from Trinntorp, via the 85 meter high mountain top all the way down to Ällmora swamp and then continue south towards Dyvik's fine natural areas.

The reserve consists of mountains, woodlands, wetlands, meadows and lakes. There is something to discover for everyone. In the north there are more dramatic views with mountains and predominantly rocky pine forest with elements of spruce and deciduous trees in ravines and valleys. Further south you will find more deciduous forest and the area around Lake Ällmora träsk is very hilly and has untouched areas with very fine rocky ground flora. The Telegrafberg area borders the Klövberget nature reserve in the south.

The wildlife in the area is also fascinating, several of Sweden's red-listed species are found in the nature reserve, including the white-tailed eagle, which is occasionally seen in the area, the common crow and Europe's smallest woodpecker, the so-called lesser spotted woodpecker, which is about the size of a house sparrow.

There is a lot to see in the area with opportunities for hiking, lookout towers, mushroom and berry picking, running and orienteering. There is a small playground at Ällmoraängen and local midsummer celebrations are held in the meadow.

Fakta

The name Telegraph Mountain comes from the fact that an optical telegraph station was located on top of the mountain for two periods in the 19th century. The telegraph station disappeared in the 1860s. Since 1987, however, there has been a lookout tower with a fantastic view of the entire Brevik peninsula and Tyresö archipelago. On clear days, visitors can see all the way to Stockholm city.

Veibeskrivelse

Parking spaces for visitors with cars are available at Trinntorpsbadet. The road to the tower is marked from Trinntorpsbadet.

Almost opposite the descent to Tyresö brygga, Trinntorp, there is a path with a steep climb on the other side of Breviksvägen. Now you are inside the nature reserve.

It is a challenging climb and depending on how much it has rained, the path may have become very wet.

Follow the orange markings on the trees. When the climb levels out and a section of wetland appears on your left, you should soon turn right and head up again.

Now the path goes over rocks, but still with markings on the trees. Soon the path goes more south and you can glimpse the tower at the height of Telegrafberget.
