On the
southern part of Långviksskär and fully surrounded by Nämdöskärgården National Park, you’ll find Långviksskär Nature Reserve. This part of the island is where you can most clearly see how the landscape has been shaped by the people who lived here. For example, there are hay meadows that are still maintained, fishing
huts and other culturally and historically important environments.
In a former
military barrack, you can take shelter from the weather. Today, it houses
photographs from Långviksskär in times past.
Several of
the houses are private residences. Please be respectful.

Långviksskär can be reached by your own boat or boat taxi.

Welcome as a guest in nature! Please follow the rules of the nature reserve so that together we can help protect and preserve the environment.
As a visitor to the reserve, you are not allowed to:
- Damage the seabed or lakebed, rock, soil, boulders, or stones, for example by drilling, carving, or painting.
- Remove or stack stones.
- Break branches, fell, or otherwise damage living or dead trees and shrubs.
- Dig up plants; pick or collect mosses or lichens; or remove attached algae or wood-growing fungi.
- Set up tents, tarps, wind shelters, hammocks, or similar: Within areas marked on the map (Appendix 3 of the decision). For more than two consecutive nights in the same place in other areas.
- Within areas marked on the map (Appendix 3 of the decision).
- For more than two consecutive nights in the same place in other areas.
- Anchor or moor a vessel at a jetty.
- Anchor or moor a vessel in the same place for more than two consecutive nights.
- Light fires outside designated areas, except when using a raised grill or camping stove.
- Bring a dog or other pet that is not kept on a leash.
- Cause disturbing noise.
- Take off or land with manned or unmanned aircraft (including drones).
Without a permit from the County Administrative Board, it is prohibited to:
- Collect amphibians or reptiles.
- Collect insects, spiders, snails, slugs, or other invertebrates.
- Organize competitions or other events held wholly or partly on land with more than 150 participants.
- Place orienteering controls, ribbons, markers, or similar items.
- Conduct scientific studies involving marking, collecting, trapping, or other measures that may impact the natural environment.
