Fakta
At the beginning of the 20th century, a series of trenches and facilities were built to protect Stockholm against enemy attacks, the so-called Fasta försvaret, also known as the Korvlinjen.
The idea was to strengthen the coastal defenses and a system of defensive facilities was built in a line both north and south of Stockholm. In the south, the lake system formed a natural line and concrete defenses were built to secure the passage between them. Along Drevviken, Långsjön and Tyresö-Flaten, a line of trenches was formed, which would be manned by almost 3,000 men. They were to defend the city against attacks, mainly on foot, using rifle fire.
Parkering
If you come by car, there is parking at the end of Gammelströmms väg. From there you can walk towards Gammelström and then start walking up the mountain on the right side.
Kommunikasjon
Buses go to Nyfors bus stop. From there it is about 1 km to Gammelströmmen.
Veibeskrivelse
The easiest way to find it is to look for a path from the walking trail that goes around Långsjön. At the height of the smaller bridge over Gammelströmmen, where the stream is at its narrowest, the fort is right up on the mountain.
It is a steep climb and not very easily accessible that way.
It is also possible to come from the other direction from "Hundängen" through the forest. The path to the fort is not marked with any trail color and is thus difficult to find.
