Fornborgstigen i Brandalsund naturreservat

Fornborgstigen is marked in yellow, 3.5 km long and leads you through the western part of Brandalsund nature reserve. Here the environment consists of a coniferous forest-covered mountain ridge. At the top of the mountain you walk through older rock pine forests and spruce forests. The path leads you through a medieval fortress that served as a guard and defense facility. An information board on site tells you more about the fortress. The view from here over the bay and the entrance to Södertälje is breathtaking. Below the mountain, follow the path along the beach. Aspens, other deciduous trees and pines with mighty trunks thrive here. You will see many traces of beavers. The beach is rocky but easily accessible in several places. From here you can see Farstanäs beach on the other side of the bay.

The path consists mostly of forest path character with partly steep, rocky parts and is rich in roots. The trail starts from the reserve's main entrance/southern parking lot.
