Finnbodas chefsbostad

You can see that this house, on the hill above the shipyard, is not in very good condition. But it was once the shipyard manager's home. It was built in the 1830s and is today the oldest remaining building in Finnboda. The architecture, with its broken roof and neat Empire style, represents the early 19th century, of which there are few examples in Nacka.

The house was originally built for the manager of the pitch mill that was located on the site before the shipbuilding era. Beck was an important product in shipbuilding for sealing and protecting wooden hulls.
