Beskrivelse
The first stage of the Roslagsleden trail is an easy hike and lined with ancient remains. Varied nature surrounds you as you hike in the world's richest region of runestones.
The stage begins near Danderyd Church, dating back to the 15th century, and continues through the nature reserves Rinkebyskogen and Rösjöskogen where the Jarlabanke runestone and the Iron Age cairns in Södersättra are found in the old-growth forest.
From the northern end of lake Rösjön and further towards the farm Hagby gård, the Roslagsleden trail follows the old Viking routes. Around Hagby there are burial grounds from the Iron Age and runestones from the 11th century.
The final part of the stage follows the southern shoreline of lake Vallentunasjön in beautiful nature with more runestones next to the lake and at Broby bro.

At the end of the stage is Karby gård, Täby's cultural center, with crafts, exhibitions and a café open on weekends.
For those who want accommodation, there is a campsite next to Rösjöbadet that is open all year round with cabins, glamping tents, restaurant, showers and toilets. At Vallentunasjön is the Såstaholm hotel and restaurant.
In Rinkebyskogen and Rösjöskogen there are several barbecue areas to rest at, some with shelter for overnight stays.

Forskrifter
The trail is marked by a band of orange painted on the trees. Occasionally signposts also guide the way and give distances. You´ll find an information board at the start and end of every stage.
As a hiker, you have a responsibility to be considerate and helpful to others who share the trail with you and to find out about local regulations that apply where you want to hike.
When you are in the countryside along the Roslagsleden trail, the Right of Public Access applies, which means both obligations and rights for you as a hiker.
Take your trash home with you.
Preferably use the designated toilets and restrooms along the trail. If you need to relieve yourself in nature, move away from the trail and rest areas and choose a spot far from watercourses. Dig a hole, relieve yourself, cover the hole. Bring toilet paper and wipes home in a plastic bag.
Remember to only light fires in official fireplaces. Do not start a fire if there is a fire ban. Here you can find out if there is a fire ban or in the app Brandrisk ute.
Respect that you are walking on someone else's land and that there may be rational agriculture and forestry along the trail.
Along the coast and in some lakes and rivers along the Roslagsleden trail, fishing is permitted if you have a fishing license. You can buy a fishing license online.
The Roslagsleden trail passes several nature reserves with protected nature where special rules apply. You can read more at Naturvårdsverket (The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency) and Länsstyrelsen (County Administrative Board).
On the first stage of the Roslagsleden trail, you pass Rinkebyskogen nature reserve and Rösjöskogen nature reserve with special regulations.

Du går genom flera olika vandringsleder, du måste hålla utkik efter den orangea färgen som markerar roslagsleden, du byter ofta led, helt plötsligt går du på en fin skogstig och helt plötsligt måste hålla utkik efter orange till höger på en mycket mindre stig, bommade på flera ställen, på badplatsen rosjön var det som värst, du hittade ingen orange färg någonstans, det visade sig att du skulle upp för en brant sandbank. på ett ställe måste du gå via en smal bilväg där farten var 70kmh, kändes inte säkert precis och sen över en bro utan trottoar. Men allt som allt en trevlig tur med många vackra vyer.

Det var härligt att vandra för en oerfaren vandrare som en erfaren. Mitt första vandring tillsammans med en kompis, en fin vandringsled som fungerar att vandra själv men också tillsammans med andra. vi tog fler pauser för att observera omgivningen och vara i nuet. En av dem mest spännande sättet att spendera sin helg på 🗻🥾
