Minörs grotta

Although the bedrock is gneiss, a cave has been carved out here, a so-called beach cave. It was carved out by the waves of the sea during perhaps 1000 years when the sea level was 60 meters higher than today. This was more than 4000 years ago. The cave is popularly known as "Minör's Cave", but the local history society's research shows that the blacksmith Anton Minör, who worked at Styckebruket in the mid-19th century, probably had nothing to do with the cave. Minör (Mineur) means "miner" and perhaps this meaning has somehow given rise to the name of the cave.
