Beskrivelse
Kustdammarna is a well-visited nature area close to urban areas, with a peaceful atmosphere and open views out to sea and towards the ponds. It is easy to get here and there are nice walks along the sea on Strandstråket and Skåneleden. The ponds are excellent places for birdwatching, especially in the winter months when you can see large flocks of resting seabirds.
The birds in Trekantsdammen and Fyrkantsdammen
There are two large freshwater ponds in the nature reserve, Tre- and Fyrkantsdammen. They are older clay ponds that were filled with water when brickmaking operations ceased. The ponds near the sea with reed belts and open water mirrors offer a more sheltered location than the adjacent sea. They are attractive to both resting winter birds and summer breeding birds. Here you can see birds such as lapwings, shelducks, curlews, coots and grebes.
The hunting grounds of bats
The surrounding sand, grass, shrubs and trees provide a varied environment that is also appreciated by flowers, insects and bats. Five species of bats can be seen flying at dusk in search of insects. These are the water bat, the greater brown bat, the northern bat, the common pipistrelle and the lesser pipistrelle. Hiking along the coast
The beach trail runs along the ponds, a 21 km walk along the Lomma coast. It runs along Badvägen and connects to Södra Västkustvägen and Campingvägen and a parking lot for visitors. The ponds also offer bird watching, fishing opportunities and ice skating when the ice settles. You can get here both on foot and by bike. There is a bus stop and parking in the immediate area. The reserve has a few benches and a barbecue area with tables and benches northwest of Trekantsdammen. Remember to take your rubbish home.

- camping / tenting
- cycling outside designated roads
- make fires outside the designated area
- fishing in Trekantsdammen (whole) and Fyrkantsdammen (from the north and west banks)

Full regulations for visitors
In addition to regulations and prohibitions in other laws and regulations, it is forbidden to:
- digging, removing, drilling, painting or otherwise damaging ground surfaces, rocks, water environments or other natural objects
- remove wood or break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead trees and shrubs
- picking, collecting, digging up or otherwise damaging plants
- pick, collect, dig up or otherwise damage mosses, lichens and wood-living fungi, with the exception of single specimens, provided that the collection does not violate the conservation regulations and that the findings are registered in the Species Portal or equivalent national database for endangered species,
- deliberately disturbing mammals and birds
- capture insects, spiders, shells or other invertebrates other than by scooping, hand picking or other selective method with subsequent re-release within the nature reserve, if it is permitted under the conservation regulations. The requirement for release does not apply to single specimens of each species for species identification, provided that the findings are registered in the Species Portal or equivalent national database for endangered species,
- sow, plant or release plants, animals or other organisms
- put up a board, poster, poster, sign, light device, make an inscription or the like, other than in a designated place if such exists,
- use or drive vehicles or machines in a disruptive manner,
- drive a motorized vehicle other than on designated roads, with the exception of assistive vehicles required to overcome disabilities,
- operate remotely operated unmanned aircraft such as model aircraft or drones at a height of less than 120 meters above the ground
- light an open fire other than in a specially designated and prepared place
- dumping waste such as garden waste, compost material, stones, rubbish or similar in the area
- camping or setting up a caravan, camper van or similar,
- organize competitions or other events without the municipality's permission,
- cycle outside designated cycle paths,
- fishing in Trekantsdammen and from the northern and western banks of Fyrkantsdammen.
