Do as the people of Motala did at the beginning of the 20th century - bring your lunch to "Gröna plan" in the nature reserve Sjöbo-Knäppan!

In the reserve you will find a bird tower, marked trails and benches with tables where you can rest. The nature is charachterized by its mixed deciduous forest and orchid fens. Sjöbo-Knäppan nature reserve is beautifully situated by Lake Boren. Several paths in the reserve are adapted for accessibility, for example the path between Sjöbotorpet and Gröna plan. In the reserve, deciduous forests alternate with grazed pastures and orchid fens. The entire reserve is located on old cultivated land and has been used for grazing and mowing for a long time. The history of the reserve is revealed, among other things, by the ruins of the medieval farm Torpa and a well-preserved hunting pit.

The nature reserve is managed by Motala kommun.

The northern parts of the area, by the croft Sjöbo, are easily accessible and can be reached by both car and bicycle. Parking is available at the croft Sjöbo. The reserve is also within walking distance from Motala city. Local buses stop at Ekenäs, which is less than a kilometer from the reserve
