In Rankemossen Nature Reserve you will encounter that untamed wilderness feeling. A few large wooded land-islands demarcate Stora (Large) Rankemossen in the north from Lilla (Little) Rankemossen in the south. The marsh has never been dug out, which is unusual; here we see a form of nature that hasn’t changed its appearance for thousands of years!
Recommendations
Good shoes for some hiking, a magnifying glass if you have a genuine interest in lichens and mosses.
Access
A bit of walking is required to get to the area. There is no path along the stream, and it can be very wet in parts.

Veibeskrivelse
Rankemossen is located about 9 km northwest of Laxå and 5 km south of Svartå. From the E20 in Laxå, drive north towards Svartå on road 205. After about 11 km, turn left on a smaller road towards Karlstorp. The reserve's parking lot with information board is after about 700 m, where Bergslagsleden crosses the road.
