Beskrivelse
Tjaraivare
is a nearly 4 square mile area that combines ancient forests, wetlands, and
water, located four kilometers west of Kåbdalis.
Mount Tjaraivare, reaching 565
meters above sea level, gives the reserve its name and is surrounded by a
beautiful mosaic of forest, mire, and waterways. There are hiking trails in the
area, and during winter, the wetlands are perfect for skiing.
The region is
characterized by a high diversity of habitats, including ancient pines that are
up to 500 years old. Tjaraivare has been shaped by natural forces, where fires
and storms have created a rich variety of dead wood, which is crucial for many
species in the ecosystem.

Veibeskrivelse
The nature reserve is located about 5 km west
of Kåbdalis. Follow road E45 south for approximately 2.5 km, then turn onto the
private road heading southwest. Continue on this road for just over 4 km, then
turn north towards the reserve.
Forskrifter
The following activities are permitted:
- Camping
- Hiking
- Picking berries and edible mushrooms
- Making a fire (remember to bring your own firewood!)
- Driving snowmobiles on well-covered snow
- Fishing and hunting in accordance with applicable laws
It is not permitted to harm plant and animal life. Remember the right of
public access and take care of nature!
