Beskrivelse

The reserve comprises ten uninhabited islands, and the skerries south and east of the island of Småskär. Here you find an abundant birdlife that includes Eider, Greylag Goose and Black Guillemot. The area is 10.3 square kilometres in size, of which 0.12 square kilometres is land. There is a ban on snowmobiling on the islands. As long as there is open water there is a ban on going ashore on certain islands. Read more in the reserve designation on the County Administrative Board website.

The Småskären skerries lie in the outer Luleå archipelago, near the island of Småskär.

Småskärens klippor is located about 27 kilometers east-southeast in the Luleå outer archipelago on the island of Småskär.

Forskrifter

All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:

  • camping
  • hiking
  • make a fire, but not directly on rocks. Remember to bring your own firewood!
  • pick berries and edible mushrooms
  • fishing in accordance with applicable laws Special rules apply to hunting in the nature reserve, you can read more about this in the reserve decision.

It is not permitted to drive snowmobiles on the islands or to damage plant and animal life. Remember the right of public access and protect nature!

On some islands, disembarkation is prohibited during the open water period. It is also forbidden to stay within 200 meters of the islands.
