Beskrivelse
In Åkerby Nature Reserve there is a highly productive forest which makes the ground rich in herbaceous plants. In spring, the pink blooms of Mezereon appear and in early summer you can smell the strong fragrance of Lily of the valley. The plants take nutrition from the seeping water in the ground. The area is 0.7 square kilometres in size.

There is a small parking space beside the road from where the trail begins.

Åkerby Nature Reserve lies about 25 kilometres northwest of Boden, in Boden Municipality, on the left bank of the Lule river. It lies about 3 km south of the village of Åkerby.
Veibeskrivelse
The nature reserve is located about 25 kilometers northwest of Boden on the west side of the Lule River and about 3 kilometers south of Åkerby.
Forskrifter
All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:
- camping
- hiking
- pick berries and edible mushrooms
- make a fire, remember to bring your own firewood!
- drive snowmobiles on well-snow-covered ground
- fish and hunt in accordance with the laws in force
It is not allowed to dig up or pick the orchids. Remember the right of public access and protect nature!
