Soldatmossen’s nature reserve is a wetland area surrounded with old forests. Some of the trees in the northern parts of the reserve is up to 250 years old! There is also a great number of dead trees.
Hazel grouse and lesser spotted woodpecker are examples of birds that likes these types of forests. It’s also a good spot to look for insects and mushrooms that needs dead or rotten wood to live.

There is a turning point close to the reserve with limited parking place.
There are no signs to this reserve, but it is located right next to the border to Växjö’s municipality. From road 23/37 that goes from Braås to Nottebäck, follow the small white sign towards “Älmeshultsvägen”. Almost directly after the turn follow a smaller road called “Soldatvägen” south. Follow that road for about 1 km until you reach a turning place.
