Beskrivelse
The old-growth forest in Skårtaryd can really stimulate your imagination. This nature reserve trail winds between thick stands of trees and large boulders. The wilderness feeling is definitely present and there are plenty of mushroom and berry areas. Many dead trees mean lots of insects, which, in turn, attracts woodpeckers. There are both black grouse and western capercaillie. During the summer, the Linnea (or twinflower) is in bloom along the fantastic forest roads of this reserve. See the link below for more information about the nature reserve. This nature reserve is administered by the County Administration of Kronoberg.

Skårtaryd primeval forest nature reserve is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Växjö.
Forskrifter
You are welcome to visit the nature reserve, but please note that it is not allowed to:
- destroy or damage any fixed natural object or surface formation, for example by drilling, painting, chiseling, or otherwise damaging rocks, boulders, living or dead trees and stumps,
- driving or parking a motorized vehicle
- set up a motor vehicle, caravan or trailer,
- ride a horse
- disturbing wildlife, for example, by foolish behavior at bird nests or the like,
- make a fire
- digging up, picking or breaking bushes, rice, herbs, mosses or lichens, with the exception of picking berries and edible mushrooms for domestic use
- collecting insects, shells or other animals
- put up a picture, sign, inscription, poster or similar device
- camping.
Other legislation on what you are allowed to do in the forest and land also applies in the nature reserve
