Hembygdsparken i Hovmantorp

The hometown park in Hovmantorp has many old buildings preserved from the past. The local community association took over the care of the park in 1958. From Kvarndammen flows Fibbleå, which is the largest tributary to Lake Rottnen. Along the river there have been several sawmills, mills and small industries etc. From Gasjön in the north down to Rottnen, the difference in level is just over 40 m in 5 km, creating many rapids and waterfalls that could drive water wheels and turbines. A little further down the river, Hovmantorp's first electricity plant was built in 1905. In 2015, Fibbleån's hiking trail was inaugurated, which is a cultural-historical walk around Hovmantorp in Lessebo municipality.
