**Uno's tower is a lookout tower located on Kulbacken in Västervik.
From the tower you have a wonderful view of the city and Gamlebyviken.
The tower was built thanks to a bequest from Gamleby resident Uno Malmberg (1909-1991). Uno's vision of a lookout tower on Kulbacken became a reality in 1997.
It was built according to a design by local architect Tommy Lyberg and was inaugurated on Walpurgis Night by actor and comedian Magnus Härenstam, nephew of Uno Malmberg.
The tower was then 15 meters high. Another donation was made in 1998 by Västervik resident Olle Blomberg. He wanted to improve the view from the tower by raising it with two concrete rings, corresponding to 3 meters. Today, Uno's Tower is 18 meters high and the viewing platform is 34 meters above sea level. The steps are 98 in number.
Opening hours of the tower are:
Mon - Fri: 10.00 - 16.00
Sun: 11.00 - 13.30
Admission to Unos Torn is purchased at the reception of Västerviks Museum and costs SEK 40.
Uno's Tower is also included in the entrance ticket to Västerviks Museum
Children under 18 years, only in adult company
