Stora Hammarsjön

The largest lake in the Stora Hammarsjö area - a beautiful lake with high sport fishing value and great development opportunities.

Stora Hammarsjön is a real wilderness lake and is a bit of a character lake for the whole area. It is varied with seven islands, great depths, shallow bays and several inflows and outflows. These factors create an exciting fishing lake. The lake is located southwest of Hultsfred and can be reached via signs to the Stora Hammarsjö area west of Hultsfred from road 34. The lake is nutrient-poor and surrounded mainly by coniferous forest. Around the lake in the northern part there is a lot of stone and coniferous forest and in the northwest there is a domain reserve consisting of a ridge with oak forest. In some places around the lake, rocky outcrops dominate with adjacent pine and pine forest.

In other areas there are marshes with sedges, sedges, birch and pine. All bottom types are represented in the lake with dominance of dune and gravel. The aquatic vegetation is sparse and consists of water lilies, bladderwrack, water clover and reeds. In the northern part of the lake there are various accommodation facilities and a beautiful and popular bathing area with shelter and barbecue area. In the southern part of the lake, by the roadside, there is a shelter, barbecue area and fishing for the disabled.
