Skiren

Skiren is a small and shallow lake that is part of Flatens FVO and Gårdvedaån's water system. Flatens FVO includes the lakes Garpen, Skiren, Övre Vrången, Yttre Vrången, Flaten, Melsjön and Bysjön. The whole area is beautiful and offers good and varied sport fishing. The fishing license is valid in all lakes included in FVO.

Skiren is located between Målilla and Virserum, near road 23 and you have to walk a bit from the road to get to the lake. The surroundings are mainly dominated by woodland and the ground is in many places rich in boulders and stones. The aquatic vegetation is relatively dense and consists of reeds, rushes, sedges and water lilies. The lake is shallow and in some stretches it can be difficult to fish from the shore, but with boots or even better waders you can find suitable places for shore fishing. Parking is available next to the road where you drive across the river north of the lake where there is also an information board.
