Sjöbovikens vandringsled

The high natural values of the Sjöboviken nature reserve, combined with its proximity to Oskarshamn, make it of great value for recreation, nature education and health care. The location close to the city makes the area very accessible, especially for people in the southern parts of Oskarshamn's central town.

Today, the area is home to many different types of plants and animals, especially mosses and lichens. Examples of rare species found in the area are pale crater lichen, gray wart lichen, dwarf tufted lichen, bearded lichen, trap moss and flat feather moss. Thanks to the long tree continuity and the presence of old deciduous trees with coarse bark that are exposed to the sun, many species benefit. The availability of dead wood in the forest provides a rich environment for wood-boring insects, which in turn provide food for birds.

In the far north, at Norgetvägen and Stångehamnsvägen, there is a large open space where you can start your walk through the reserve.
