Pilgrimsled - Östra Sigfridsleden

Östra Sigfridsleden is a 30 km long pilgrimage trail that starts in the coastal landscape of Södermøre and ends in Källebäcksmåla west of Kalmar.

Information about Östra Sigfridsleden

The Östra Sigfridsleden trail starts in the coastal landscape of Södermøre with its beaches, meadows and rich bird life. Outside Kolboda is an archipelago with many small islands. The starting point for the walk is at Hagbyån, which is surrounded by lush greenery and offers suitable environments for many species of fish, birds and various insects. The trail follows the course of the river inland, and in several places it reaches its banks.

Farmland and forest landscape

It runs through the coastal, fertile agricultural landscape, which offers a changing play of colors according to the seasons. In some places, former shorelines are clearly visible. After the agricultural landscape, nature gradually changes to a forest landscape, and the end of the trail is in a peculiar area shaped by the ice sheet, with heights, precipices and dead ice.

Changing wildlife

Wildlife is varied along the trail. Here you can see both domesticated and wild animals. There are moose, roe deer, fox and hare, and the river is home to Småland's regional animal, the otter.
